Some may ask how, at this moment of economic challenge, we can afford to invest in reforming our health care system. Well, I ask a different question -- I ask how we can afford not to....If we want to overcome our economic challenges, we must also finally address our health care challenge.

Included on his agenda of reform are cost cutting -- Medicare Advantage was mentioned -- plus programs to promote wellness and prevention.

Obama announced that his candidate for Secretary of Health and Human Services, Tom Daschle would also head a new White House Office of Health Reform. through email messages will be a part of the process, and Daschle said he would personally attend some meetings now being organized.
