NHSlogo.jpgFalse claims about access to treatment and end-of-life care in Britain have dragged the UK into the American debate about health reform. Attacks on the National Health Service (NHS) are mobilizing responses, including the Prime Minister's twitter 10 Downing Street. Today Nursing Times wrote:

The NHS in England provides health services on the basis of clinical need, irrespective of age or ability to pay.

'The NHS constitution enshrines these patients' rights and places a duty on the NHS to promote equality through the services it provides.

Foolish remarks, including the identification of Stephen Hawking as an American, are assailed in publications such as The Guardian, The Telegraph, and the BBC.
