Understanding psychosis for risk, early detection, diagnosis and treatment of psychiatric disorders is not as straightforward as it was once thought to be. An on line (August 17) article in Schizophrenia Bulletin Advance Access in which Australian researchers asking about psychotic-like symptoms for major depression, and anxiety disorders including PTSD.

An editorial in Sept. issue of Schizophrenia Bulletin by William T. Carpenter asks "should psychosis risk become a diagnostic class?" Carpenter is chairs of the American Psychiatric Association's committee weighing the evidence for the newest edition of the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual(DSM-V).
