Al Jazeera's investigative English speaking program, Fault Line, has created a two-part series about how people with a mental illness are treated in the United States. John Rushing goes behind the scenes, into hospitals, prisons, offices of doctors and federal officials to expose failures in the system that have more people with mental illness on the streets and in the prisons rather than in treatment. The absence of mental illness in discussions of health reform is noted by psychiatrist E. Fuller Torrey.
