When you smoke weed, or take any type of drug, the ingredient that gets you high is converted by the body into metabolites. These waste products race around your bloodstream and some get caught up in cells around the body.
Most work their way out over a few days, sometimes a few weeks. But if they get trapped in your scalp, under the hair follicles, they can get caught up in the hair growing process.
What happens is that as the hair grows, the trapped metabolite is pulled out of the head inside the hair. The hair has a hard layer of minute scales called the cuticle, which protects it while still allowing it to be flexible. Underneath the cuticle layer is where the toxins get trapped.
So when you go for a drug test, and you submit that hair sample, all they have to do is open up the cuticle’s using chemicals and they can then see exactly when you have taken drugs, and what drugs you have taken. The hair follicle drug test is dangerous because it’s an indelible record exactly what, and when, you have taken drugs over the past three months.
The only way to stop this happening is to somehow open up the cuticle layer and flush out the toxins yourself before you submit your sample. Let me tell you, that’s very hard to achieve.

Ideally you should do it two times per day for the seven days leading up to hair follicle drug test. However, when I did it, I didn’t have the notice to achieve that.
I did a total of eight times as follows:
- A single time on Sunday evening
- Three times on Monday
- Three times on Tuesday
- Wednesday morning two hours before my test
Without going through the whole process here, you basically use vinegar, a salicylic shampoo, then Aloe Rid shampoo, then liquid detergent one after the other with plenty of water. Together, it opens up the cuticle layer of the hair, flushes out the toxins, and then shut the cuticle layer up again.
On the day of your drug test, just before you leave, you then use Zydot Ultra Clean shampoo to hoover up any loose toxins in the hair, so that you don’t get caught out at the last minute.
It’s invasive, but it works. I used it for a hair follicle drug test for probation three years ago. I’m not ashamed to admit it, I got caught out with some drugs.
I passed the drug test using the Macujo method. Hell, all I’ve been doing was smoking a few joints a week while on probation. There was no way on earth I was going to get into more trouble just for having a bit of weed.
